I do wonder about Equilibrium sometimes - and I like to have a few "character" EQs around (Sie-Q for example) but, if you can afford Pro-Q2, it's a great investment. There is also the Natural Phase mode - sounds far more natural even than linear phase in most situations (mixing or mastering) and seems to be unique to Pro-Q2. Pro-Q2 can do a heck of a lot more than Ozone's EQ. It's really quite liberating as you never think twice about slapping it on channels, even multiple times on the same channel (pre/post other effects).Īnother advantage is number of curve points. I just personally do not like the sound of it whenever I start playing with it. some of the other guys at the studio like to use it. Is there anything that Pro-Q can do that I could not achieve with the EQ's on Ozone 7? Should I own both or would it be a waste of time and money? I guess my question is, "Why should I own Pro-Q, if at all, if I already own Ozone 7 which has good EQs built into the suite, in addition to the fact that I have other eq plugs as well?". I do, however, occasionally use it while mixing. However, I utilize it more for mastering purposes than anything else, as do most people. I currently own iZotope Ozone 7 and love it. I am interested to hear comparison thoughts on the two.
